At Extreme Rules 2022, Ronda Rousey battled Liv Morgan in a brutal Extreme Rules Match with the Smackdown Women’s Title on the line. After a hell of a match between the two bitter rivals, it’s none other than the former UFC fighter who emerged victorious with an innovative submission move to pass out her opponent.
With that, Ronda Rousey became the two-time WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion in her professional wrestling career. After the match, the new champion talked a lot of trash and she even stepped onto her opponent to show off heel antics.

Prior to their match, the two were featured in several segments on Smackdown including the September 30 edition where Morgan came out with a baseball bat in hand and attacked Ronda Rousey following her win against Natalya, leading to an all-out brawl. Due to being a babyface figure, the latter had to contend with her actions which isn’t a pleasing experience for her, at all.

Ronda Rousey claims heel antics come natural in her
During a live stream on her YouTube channel, Ronda Rousey touched on this aspect of her character where WWE mainly utilizes her as a special attraction and hence keeps her on the babyface side while she’s a natural villain. She thought that Morgan’s attack on her was a cheap shot but then people still praised Morgan for her efforts to go up against a UFC Hall of Famer.
“I feel like that’s a double standard that everybody else gets to attack me from behind, gets to hit me with bats, gets to do all this other stuff, and [fan’s reaction are], ‘Oh what a commendable, inspiring babyface.’ So I’m like, what the heck. I can’t even be a heel when I’m a heel,” said the two-time blue brand women’s champion.
It was after Extreme Rules that WWE changed up Ronda Rousey’s character direction on their internal roster. Since she’s been showing a lot of heel antics starting with SummerSlam 2022, she would now be considered a heel, per PWInsider.
Back at Summerslam, The Baddest Woman on the Planet attacked the referee following her loss to Morgan following the referee’s bad decision. This was the original heel turn for her but WWE held back the heel turn by placing her in matches against heels like Natalya or Sonya Deville.
