Ronda Rousey’s WWE debut was much-anticipated to the fans which got stuck for almost three years. The moment finally came after the first-ever Women’s Rumble match was over on January 28th. She arrived to point out to the Wrestlemania sign indicating that she wants to be a part of it. But, the booking around this woman was not a good one according to many.
The prestigious battle royal for the 30 superstars from the WWE was supposed to be a celebration for the superstars who worked hard to get the spotlight.
All of a sudden when they achieved something big, it was completely overshadowed by Ronda Rousey’s arrival. Being a mainstream sportswoman, she sucked all the spotlight.
As reported earlier, various women from the roster like Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, and Nikki Bella let knew their negative reactions to the social media handle.
Also, some of the veteran names from pro-wrestling did not like it either. Apparently, this negative backlash is set to turn the table for the behemoth name from the UFC.
WWE officials are well aware of the fact that the audience did not like the booking. They did not want to see the woman who had no business on the Royal Rumble night showing up and the ruin the day. Based on this fallout, the creative team might be willing to turn the former UFC superstar to a heel persona.
According to a report from Inquistr.com, the officials are nurturing the idea of making Ronda Rousey an on-screen villain, sooner. This might happen prior to her very first Wrestlemania match at the 34th edition of the event.
As for now, Rousey is rumored to team up with The Rock to take on the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, on that night.
Another reason for turning the big name into a heel is that the company is willing to use her as the counterpart of Brock Lesnar on the female roster. In that case, putting her into a villainous role is evident.
Check out the updates from SportsKeeda.com,
”WWE is hoping that Ronda will become the same figure as Brock Lesnar but for the Women’s Division and it implies that becoming such a huge figure in the company comes with a number of haters. Lesnar himself doesn’t have a lot of friends, which is why he works so well as a heel because he has never needed back up.”
Rousey is also said to be working in a part-time deal like Lesnar which is why she will resurface on the Elimination Chamber PPV in order to begin a storyline for Wrestlemania 34 which will be built up further on WWE Raw, going forward.
