Ronda Rousey has been in the WWE since 2018 and being a famous name in the USA sport circuit, she’s had targets on her back since day one. Previously, the UFC Hall of Famer had faced betrayal at the hands of The Bella Twins and Natalya Neidhart. Shayna Baszler is the latest name to have got added to the list and the victim isn’t surprised for the right reason.
As seen on Twitter, recently, Ronda Rousey simply stated that “some things never change” while noting her long-time friend turning on her at Money in the Bank. Alongside this, she also uploaded a video of herself and Shayna Baslzer from their early MMA days, where the latter would get beaten up by her.
Revisiting Ronda Rousey And Her Traumatic Journeys At WWE Money In The Bank PLEs
After staying out of action in the WWE since Wrestlemania 35 in 2019, Ronda Rousey returned to the ring during the 2022 Royal Rumble event last year’s January after a nearly three-year absence. Since that return, The Baddest Woman on the Planet won the Smackdown Women’s Championship twice besides having a couple of solid feuds with the likes of Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan.
It was unfortunate that Ronda Rousey failed to receive any positive reactions from the fans during this second run. This forced the WWE to turn her into a heel and even after suffering the betrayal, she would stay as a villain on WWE TV.

Ronda Rousey remained a heel despite Shayna Baszler’s betrayal
At the WWE Money in the Bank 2023 premium live event, Shayna Baszler turned on her tag team partner Ronda Rousey with a brutal assault before passing her out with the Kirifuda Clutch submission hold. This allowed Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to double-team on the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble winner and pin her to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Speaking on the turn-on, Baszler mentioned on Raw how she built up rings and paid her dues, while Ronda Rousey had her first match right away at WrestleMania in a main event capacity. The fans cheered for Shayna throughout this segment which was seemingly a babyface turn for her.
Ronda Rousey attacked Shayna, but Shayna fought back and laid her with a knee strike to the face. This week on Raw, the former UFC Bantamweight Champion was finally successful in keeping Baszler down as they possibly head into Summerslam for a singles encounter.
