WWE decided to save the status of Seth Rollins by turning him to a heel on this past edition of Monday Night Raw. For weeks now, the chorus of boos towards the prime figure of the flagship show was increasing.
It was not appreciated considering that he was the one carrying the show on his back. But the officials did not want him to go into a situation to that of John Cena or Roman Reigns. So a villainous turn was the best option that they could arrange for the former Universal Champion.
Vince McMahon furious on Seth Rollins?
As seen on the main event of WWE Raw, Seth Rollins faced Kevin Owens in a solid match that ended in disqualification. The Authors of Pain pounced on Owens from the back with a blindside attack.
CM Punk to get a lucrative deal?
Rollins then hesitantly drove Owens’ face-first into the mat for a couple of occasions with the pendant Stomp. It was also a tease that the trio might form a faction in the near future.
More updates are now available on the surprising set of events from WWE Raw.
According to the Wrestling Observer, the idea behind this heel-turn is that Seth Rollins believes in his mind that he’s a babyface and doing what’s right for the brand.
The character would be similar to that of the Hall of Famer Bret Hart’s gimmick from 1997 which led to the infamous Montreal Screwjob at Survivor Series,
“Yes, Seth Rollins has turned heel. I know a lot of times we see these weird storylines and such on Raw and I think somebody has turned heel and I’m told ‘no, no, no they’re still a babyface’ or whatever. This is definitely a heel turn for Seth Rollins.
This is not like a slow turn that they’re doing right now. This is his idea. This is his character. He is a heel who thinks he right. I guess he thinks he’s 1997 Bret Hart.
The Seth Rollins character thinks that you the fans are being unfair to WWE. So, he’s gonna wrestle like a babyface while burying you. That seems to be the plan.”
As of now, we have to wait for what’ll be waiting for Seth Rollins and AOP when the next episode of WWE Raw airs, next week.
A formation of alliance seems evident at this point since AOP needs a guide for them to get more success in the tag team division.
Also, reports claim that Vince McMahon has been furious over Seth Rollins’ comments on WWE Raw over CM Punk.
It was something that was not scripted for the show especially when WWE does not have a deal with him.
However, the officials are certainly looking forward to bring him back which eliminates the chances of potential heat.
