After the match, Bryan spoke with WWE The Bump host Kayla Braxton, backstage to mention how there’s one thing he’s always wanted to do in his life, and that’s winning a Royal Rumble Match.
So he then declared his spot for the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match at the first pay-per-view event of 2021. It will go down on January 31 from the WWE ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, as per WWE’s confirmations.

New Champion Crowned on Smackdown
This is E’s second reign with the Intercontinental Title that must have also marked the beginning of his solo push on the roster. Zayn won the title back at Clash of Champions on September 27 by defeating AJ Styles and the previous champion Jeff Hardy in a Triple Threat Ladder Match which also was a Match of The Year candidate.
In the opening match of this week’s Christmas edition of SmackDown, the Universal Champion Roman Reigns defended his title against Kevin Owens once again in a rematch. This one took place inside a Steel Cage to avoid interferences from Jey Uso. But once again, he turned out to be the deciding factor of the match.
During the ending moments of the match, Owens was almost in a position to win the match by escaping the cage through the door but Jey Uso smashed the cage door on Owens’ head. Owens kept on fighting after laying out Reigns with a Stunner. Then, Jey once again interfered and handcuffed Owens to the steel cage.
Roman Reigns then slowly made his way out of the cage through the door to touch his feet with the floor. He won the match and retain the Universal Championship. The way this match ended, it’s likely that another rematch must be in the works in due course.
