Sonya Deville is the first acknowledged lesbian star of the WWE, for those who are unaware. Her sexual preferences have been well-documented through the Total Divas reality show. WWE takes immense pride in encouraging such social awareness campaigns and that was the sole reason why they included the former Smackdown roster member into the hit TV show on the E Network.

Yesterday was a very special day for Sonya Deville who was celebrating the National Coming Out Day. She posted on Twitter about the day with a short video of her and her girlfriend. She also dropped an encouraging message for anyone who might be hesitating of coming out with themselves,

“Happy #NationalComingOutDay no matter where you are on your journey in or out. I am so proud of you all. I love you all, and priority number one is loving ourselves. “Be you because everyone else is already taken.”

Over on Instagram, Sonya Deville elaborated her thoughts while encouraging the LGBTQ community members,

“No matter where you are on your journey love yourself and be proud of who you are. “Be yourself everyone else is already taken” is a quote I try and live each day by. Love is such a beautiful thing and it deserves to be shared with those you care about. Do you, at your pace, your time, your way. And if anyone has a problem with that send em my way…love you guys so much and I can’t thank you enough for the support y’all have shown me over the past half a decade. I am truly blessed. Unapologetically be you. 365 24/7.”

As of now, Sonya Deville is out of WWE TV after coming up short in a loser leaves WWE match at SummerSlam. She hasn’t been seen since. This is the first time she was seen in a highlighted post on social media as she is celebrating this big day for the community she proudly represents.

While Sonya Deville is away from WWE programming through a storyline perspective, she has enough reasons to stay away as a tumultuous situation prevails in her real life, too.

As reported earlier, she has received additional threats from unknown individuals since the recent attempted kidnapping at her home. A 24-year-old Phillip A. Thomas II was arrested while he tried to abduct the WWE tar from her home.

Thomas was recently denied bail due to the concern for Deville’s safety and the safety of other members of her family. Thomas’ attorney wanted a $2 million bail, but Judge Catherine Catlin ruled that he was a threat to the safety of the community following Deville’s testimony.

At this point, the belief is that Sonya Deville will be back on WWE TV when the time is right. She is likely to don a new character moving over from her Daddy Deville persona.
