SummerSlam 2021 is expected to be the first event following WrestleMania 37 to have live fans in the audience. WWE does have some big plans around that particular show which could also mark the company’s touring process around the United States. That being said, they want the upcoming pay-per-view event to be filled with bigger star powers.
Daniel Bryan’s contract with WWE has recently expired and he’s a free agent, as of now. A WWE source told Wrestling News that Vince McMahon believes that Bryan will be back in time for SummerSlam 2021 after signing a new contract with the company.
‘Sasha Banks Is The GOAT Of This Era,’ Says WWE Hall Of Famer
The source offered the following regarding the situation,
“There is no bad blood, no grudge from either side and Vince thinks he will be back but he just needs time to recharge his batteries.
We are ready to have him back in a big match at SummerSlam. Vince loves the guy and he has a full-time job behind-the-scenes ready for him when the time comes for him to retire.”
Daniel Bryan expected to be around WWE Summerslam 2021
Reports already claimed that WWE is forcing Daniel Bryan to sign a new deal so that he could be back with the company, sooner than later. Now it appears that they want him to stay in the SummerSlam 2021 picture, as well. Whenever he would love to close his active in-ring career, Vince would be happy to offer him a spot, backstage. It should be noted that he has already worked in the creative team of SmackDown, last year.
Daniel Bryan lost to Roman Reigns in a Career vs Title Universal Title match on SmackDown, two weeks ago. Per the stipulation of the match, he was banned from appearing on SmackDown, ever again. Only time will tell whether he could resurface on any other brands of the WWE, in time for SummerSlam 2021.
Speaking of the PPV, it will reportedly be taking place in late August, in a contradictory update from the earlier situation. Last week, a report was available noting that WWE may prepone WWE SummerSlam 2021 pay-per-view earlier than usual. It was mentioned as a kickoff to the return to the company’s touring. But now PWInsider reports that summer’s biggest show is slated for Sunday, August 22.
There is still no word available on the location for SummerSlam 2021 but it should be confirmed, soon. Reports mention that WWE has considered outdoor stadium settings in states like Texas, Phoenix, and Arizona, among other locations.
