Summerslam 2022 edition is slated for July 30th from an outdoor stadium. In general, this annual tradition of the WWE takes place in mid or late August. But this year, it’s been preponed for almost a month. Fans have been speculating on social media on why such a massive change was noted in the schedule given it’s one of the Big-Four events on the WWE calendar.
An update from WWFOldSchool noted that the reason behind this move is that WWE wanted to keep a gap of one month between their three back-to-back big stadium shows.
Spoiler On Roman Reigns’ Opponents On For MITB, Summerslam And CATC 2022 PLEs
Money In The Bank 2022 will take place at the MGM Grand Arena in Paradise, Nevada on July 2nd while WWE Summerslam 2022 will take place on July 30th at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville. This is the first time that SummerSlam is taking place in the state of Tennessee.
Then on September 3rd, WWE will visit the United Kingdom for a show at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. With that, WWE will conduct three consecutive big stadium shows in a calendar year for the very first time. So, they wanted to have a gapping in the schedule and thus Summerslam 2022 got preponed.
Summerslam 2022 will have top WWE Superstars on the card
Recently, the first SummerSlam 2022 promotional graphic has been released and superstars being advertised include Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, Bobby Lashley, and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
After his removal from Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 card, Brock Lesnar was only advertised for in Money in the Bank 2022 Premium Live Event. But now he’s been added to Summerslam 2022 which indicates that he might be in attendance for all the Stadium Shows, later this year to sell those out.
There’s no update on whether Lesnar will visit the WWE UK PLE after working Summerslam 2022. In the meantime, WWE has made history with the announcement of this UK event. 59,000 Fans registered for the pre-sale tickets in the first 24 hours, which appears to be more registrations for pre-sale of tickets in 24 hours for any WWE event ever, including WrestleMania. WWE could be looking forward to a record attendance that should surpass the early number of almost 78000.
