WWE has already started planning for the big events for next year which includes Summerslam 2022, the second biggest PPV on their calendar. Earlier this year, they delivered the 2021 edition on a Saturday, bringing mainstream feels to the show which was no less than a Wrestlemania. Now they might try to garner even more attention from the world with next year’s installment that could take place outside the United States.
United Kingdom professional wrestling fans have long been clamoring for a big event, possibly Wrestlemania. But there’s no update on whether bringing the biggest PPV of the year is possible. Rather, rumor mills have been claiming that WWE could be on the way to Cardiff for Summerslam 2022.

According to a prior report from talkSPORT, WWE is strongly considering SummerSlam 2022 for Cardiff at the Principality Stadium. Apparently, there have been talks during WWE’s recent visit to the UK with the Smackdown roster,
“The Principality Stadium in Cardiff is the front-runner for SummerSlam in the UK next year. Meetings took place during the tour last week and great progress was made on a WWE UK PPV.”

WWE is yet to confirm Summerslam 2022 deal in the UK
In an update to the situation, another reliable source mentioned that nothing regarding the biggest party of the summer is penciled in, yet. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shed light on the ongoing story and opined that WWE should be holding a PPV event in the U.K. But the Summerslam 2022 deal is yet to be confirmed by the two parties,
“There is a report that SummerSlam next year is going to be in Cardiff, Wales, that is far from a done deal. Obviously, there is talk of Cardiff, Wales, and probably somewhere else in the U.K. so, that would be interesting timeslot wise. That’s why I don’t think its’ going to be SummerSlam, because it would have to be in the afternoon and I don’t know if they’ll want to do that.”
A huge chunk of the passionate fanbase is present all around the UK and they’re likely to welcome the WWE roster if Summerslam 2022 is planned in any of the cities. However, there could be timing problems for the US territory. But then again, WWE takes risks with the timing with the likes of Saudi Arabia PPVs.
