SummerSlam 2023 has been announced to emanate from an outdoor stadium marking it a three-year in-a-row tradition for the WWE pay-per-view event set for summer. As confirmed by the WWE, the event will go down from Detroit, a city that previously hosted Eminem and WrestleMania in 2007. Now, the Biggest Event of the Summer will be added to the history.
WWE previously revealed in an official press release that SummerSlam 2023 will take place in Detroit’s Ford Field on August 5th. Tickets for the event will go on sale on April 14th, 2023. In 2022, the event was held at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville while the year prior, it took place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
WWE Summerslam 2023: Trish Stratus To Compete In A Dream Match?
“Landing WWE SummerSlam at Ford Field is a signature win for Detroit and continues the momentum of the Detroit Sports Commission in attracting major sporting events to the region,” said DSC Executive Director Dave Beachnau about SummerSlam 2023 coming to Detroit.
“Metro Detroit enjoys a special place in WWE history and has produced many iconic moments. Thank you to the entire WWE family for entrusting us with this incredible opportunity, and we look forward to delivering a first-class experience.”
Two world championships are likely to be back in WWE by SummerSlam 2023
Since Vince McMahon stepped down from the WWE creative position, Triple H took over the role and he found himself in a difficult situation since fans weren’t happy with the earlier decisions made by Vince. According to a recent report, Triple H is currently attempting to fix the final “mess” made by the previous regime led by McMahon and it should happen by SummerSlam 2023.
It really was one of the most controversial decisions by the WWE to unify world titles at WrestleMania 38 when the roster was filled with talented superstars and also at a phase when the unifying titles were also not supposed to change hands for a long time. According to a recent report from WrestleVotes via GiveMeSport, Triple H is working on bringing back the two world titles before SummerSlam 2023 in early August,
“This is the final mess, and you really can call it a mess. This is the final obstacle and the new team is working to overcome that. There was never a plan when Roman Reigns won the titles a year ago. Triple H was handed this mess, By SummerSlam, there’s gonna be two titles.” (Quotes courtesy GiveMeSport)
Since taking over, Triple H has made several changes to the WWE product as the Chief Content Officer and those efforts have received positive feedback from fans and critics. Introducing two separate titles should also be helmed as a commendable job by the WWE Universe as it would offer more opportunities to the talents around SummerSlam 2023.
