After a long wait of six years, WWE officially announced their return to Indian soil with an event dubbed Superstar Spectacle 2023. Originally, the first edition of this gimmicked night was hosted in January 2021 inside the WWE ThunderDome with zero audiences. Now, WWE Superstars will perform live for the Indian audience within a month from now.

For those who remember, back in 2017, WWE pulled off an unthinkable stunt to promote their last Indian event. Jinder Mahal defeated Randy Orton in the main event of the WWE Backlash premium live event to become the new WWE Champion. Moving forward, WWE thus could have used a champion from India to promote the show that went down in the fall. A similar tactic could be utilized for Superstar Spectacle 2023.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are the Undisputed Tag Team Champions in WWE. They defeated The Usos at Wrestlemania 39 in April to gain those belts but recent injuries have put a question mark on their status to be the reigning champions. A rib injury has sidelined Owens from television while Zayn has been dealing with a swollen elbow, as well.

Superstar Spectacle 2023: Indus Sher to become new tag champions?

So the speculation is that WWE will have to eventually crown new tag team titleholders. With Superstar Spectacle 2023 coming within a month, it’s safe to say that they might consider a team from India to pick up those belts so that they could be billed as reigning champions on that night.

The team of Indus Sher – Veer Mahaan and Sanga is rumored to become the new tag team champions in time for Superstar Spectacle 2023. For the time being, the two behemoths remain absent from WWE programming but who knows if WWE pulls off the absolutely unexpected stunt on Raw to grab some headlines?

As announced on August 1 by WWE, Superstar Spectacle 2023 will go down at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium (Gachibowli Indoor Stadium), Hyderabad, India, on Friday, September 8, 2023. While Indus Sher remains absent from WWE TV, they are being promoted to appear on the show. Other India-origin stars like Jinder Mahal and Shanky are also being advertised to appear. Alongside them, the Raw roster is likely to perform on the show since it’ll be a red brand-exclusive event.
