The Great Khali initially joined the WCW
Starting his basic wrestling training in the United States under his real name of Dalip Singh, the gigantic figure from India started with All Pro Wrestling under Roland Alexander. He was then signed to the WCW just before Vince McMahon bought out the company. The Great Khali was among that category of wrestlers who opted to move into the WWE rather than letting his contract expire.
