Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made a name for himself in the professional wrestling industry before moving to Hollywood. He needs no introduction when it comes to wrestling. He is still regarded as one of the all-time greats who was the one key reason that the wrestling business went global starting from the USA circuit. Moving ahead, he became a global phenomenon by virtue of his movie stint.
The Rock is a dominant force in Hollywood who brings huge star power to any movie project that he’s associated with. Given his success rate, it’s safe to say that he’s the biggest box office attraction in the WWE. The end of his WWE career was started with his role in ‘The Scorpion King’ as many would know and there’s a solid truth attached to it.

The Rock’s rise in the movie business is well-known by WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin as the two previously produced a great feud. The latter then recently appeared in a conversation with Bill Apter and was noted on The Great One’s Hollywood stardom.

The Rock had a great Hollywood landing via The Scorpion King
Austin noted that The Rock’s movie career received the initial boost from the 2002 movie “The Scorpion King.” After the success of the movie, the WWE superstar real name Dwayne Johnson knew that he had future plans outside of pro wrestling,
“Who would have figured, but I think that’s what he had his sights set on. He’s third generation pro wrestler and he got into the business because of a passion for the business. And then, also, [he] the saw the light on the other side – or the light at end of the tunnel and that first tunnel was maybe that first ‘Scorpion King’ movie.”
“He almost tried to fit into Hollywood standards and said, ‘No, no, just let me do this my way.’ The thing I like about The Rock is he goes, ‘Hey, man, I’m not going to just try to mold myself down. I’m just going to be me.’ That’s what he’s done and he’s taken over Hollywood by himself.”
Austin also mentioned how The Rock is capable of controlling his on-screen persona in Hollywood. It only took just “one screenshot of him” to feature as a movie star, moving on from just being a pro wrestler. Austin remembered his collaboration with Johnson in the WWE and he could obviously see that a man like him would have every element to get success in life.
