Stone Cold refused to wrestle her former husband Marc Mero
WWE signed Marc Mero to a bound-contract having the plan to give him a huge push. Eventually, her wife Sable ended up getting louder cheers from the audience which organically changed him to a heel. The on-screen pairing with Sable came to an end when she powerbombed Mero to the mat. WWE wanted to make him a monstrous heel from that point onwards but Stone Cold Steve Austin refused to work with him. He thought that working with someone who was powerbombed by a woman could have hurt his credibility and thus the Mero character got buried.
Vince McMahon made her a mistress out of ego
While leaving the WWE in the 90s, Sable filed a lawsuit against the company WWE for sexual harassment and unsafe working conditions during her stint. She denied to go topless or be part of a lesbian angle. The lawsuit was settled outside the court between the two parties. Sable eventually came back to the WWE in 2003 and McMahon’s ego was in full display. He made her be a part of both the storylines, she previously rejected. Then she also became the mistress of Mr. McMahon and agreed to make out with him, every now and then.
She denied a return at Evolution
Being one of the pioneers of WWE Women’s wrestling history, fans did want to see Sable make a grand comeback, for once. WWE also sent her an invitation for the all-women pay-per-view event named Evolution that was hosted in October 2018. Rumors had that she not only turned down that offer but also informed that she’d would never make a return. Brock Lesnar may be the biggest box office attraction that WWE has but he couldn’t change his wife’s mind.
