Women’s Tag Teams weren’t always rare in WWE programming through which we did receive Team Bestie in WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and Lita. Even after their heyday, a handful of names during the WWE Divas division and then the women’s division carried the trend to team up to assure a backup for their success.
However, it wasn’t until the introduction of the Women’s Tag Team Championships in December 2018 that those teams actually started getting recognition. It was a revolutionary move to boost up the mid-carders of the female roster. But at the same time, lack of solid booking and injury-prone talents have already stamped the set of titles as ‘cursed.’
With Vince McMahon in charge of the WWE creative team in the past, many fans blamed him for half-hearted attempts in creating legit tag teams like in the men’s division. Things gradually changed after Sasha Banks and Naomi’s walk-out following Wrestlemania 38 and then with Triple H replacing Vince as the head booker.

Ten of the best WWE Women’s Tag Teams
That being said, we’ve sorted out the ten best women’s tag teams in the history of the WWE. We’ve counted all the pairings from all the eras of the Women’s Division and not just the ones who started functioning after the tag titles were introduced.
The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan)
Many may not find this trio’s name relevant in this list but to begin with, they were the jobbers to most of the successful female superstars in the WWE. Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan had been real-life friends and it was clear by their smooth in-ring functioning. Coming with the top heel acts, The Riott Squad was a perfect tag combo and it’s a shame that WWE never found a way to make them women’s tag team champs.
On the contrary, this Riott Squad put over names like Ronda Rousey, The Bella Twins, Sasha Banks, and even Natalya. Inspired by Hollywood’s Suicide Squad, the team deserved so much more but WWE’s weak creative plans let Ruby turn on Morgan to break things up. Morgan did find success in the WWE, down the road but the other two had to disappear from the scene.
