The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane)
Although both Asuka and Kairi Sane are billed from Japan, they never had the experience of working with each other in Japan. With promos being a bar, WWE introduced them as a tag team with Paige being their manager. This worked wonders as the babyfaces instantly started running roughshod over their contemporaries.
Down the road, The Kabuki Warriors intentionally started journeying on their own by shredding Paige from their side. With two women’s tag team title runs under their belts, they went to the top of the roster by feuding with teams like The IIconics, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross, and even Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch.
