The concept of a women’s tag team was solidified by the team of Michelle McCool and Layla who individually saw so much success in their career by sticking up to each other. Since there were no tag belts for the women superstars, they collectively went for the Divas and Women’s Championships and unified them. There was a point that these two even carried one-half of a full championship belt.
With the then Smackdown general manager Vickie Guererro on their side, the two demolished every opponent put against them during their heyday and championship run. In an exceptional match, they have even competed in a World Heavyweight Championship Match, in an attempt to help Dolph Ziggler to win it from Edge.
