Bayley is one of the top talents of WWE Smackdown who is helping her protégé IYO SKY, a lot for the time being. The latter is the 2023 Miss Money in the Bank holder who needs to be put over big-time before possibly becoming the next women’s champion. Bayley was supposed to be that veteran helping hand which could be absent for a long time.
During the latest WWE Smackdown live event in Salisbury, Maryland, there was a potential injury incident involving Bayley which could eventually turn out to be serious. As noticed by the fans in attendance, the referee signaled the ‘X’ sign, indicating a potential real injury with Bayley remaining in the ring by clutching her knee.

The ongoing match was subsequently stopped, and the top WWE Smackdown Superstar had to be taken backstage for further evaluation and treatment. This was certainly not good news coming out of the show and now worse reports are available indicating that the injury situation could have been worsened.

PWInsider offered the latest update on the injury situation saying that Bayley’s injury is legitimate which could become worse given that she already suffered a knee injury in the past. There’s nothing kayfabe on the situation they still wait to know more about the severity of the issue which could shelf from WWE Smackdown for months,
“WWE’s Bayley suffered what appeared to be a knee injury at tonight’s WWE live event in Salisbury, Maryland tonight. Bayley’s match against Charlotte Flair and Asuka was halted and she was assisted from the ring by WWE officials. PWInsider.com has been told by WWE sources that this was not a worked spot and is a legitimate situation.”
If the injury does keep Bayley out of action for a long time then WWE’s creative plans will be changed in due course. Going by the current happenings, Bayley and IYO SKY were building toward a storyline on WWE Smackdown. With Dakota Kai already being injured, 2/3 of Damage CTRL is apparently out of action and SKY would be on her own as she hopes to become a champion.
