There is no doubt in the fact that Vince McMahon is the biggest reason behind the ultimate success of WWE. When the promotion started under his father it was just another professional wrestling promotion along with a lot of existing equal options. Today it is the biggest professional wrestling promotion in the world.
But did Vince McMahon ever care about the history of WWE? The promotion is nearly 70 years old and it has a huge history that cannot be discussed in shortcut. The promotion has created so many big wrestlers, they have staged a lot of big matches including amazing promo segments. The history of the promotion is huge.
Does Vince McMahon Care About The History Of WWE?
One historical thing about this promotion is its amazing championships. The WWE championship is currently one of the oldest championships in professional wrestling history. The title is nearly 60 years old and it has been held by some of the biggest legends of professional wrestling.
But what if I tell you that this Championship is going to die soon? That is right. Just after a number of months you will never hear the name of WWE Championship ever again. The Championship has been merged with Universal Championship at WrestleMania 38, and from now on, the universal Championship will stand only. That is right WWE has killed the 60 year old prestigious Championship soon.
May be it is a little difficult to digest but this is not the first time WWE has killed a prestigious Championship. The first time WWE killed one of their prestigious championship was back in 2010. It was the prestigious WWE World Tag Team championships which was established in 1971. WWE decided the newly founded (only in 2002) WWE Tag Team Championship will stand.
Just after one month of this unification, WWE killed another prestigious Championship. This time it was the oldest Championship left in WWE, the Women’s Championship which was founded in 1956. WWE decided to keep the newly founded Divas Championship over this prestigious Championship. It is considered as one of the worst decisions ever made by WWE.
Now they are going to repeat the same thing once again. This time they are going to kill the ultimate championship of the promotion, the WWE championship. This is all that promotion stands for, and now they are going to kill the ultimate Championship. The second brand extension is even a bigger failure than the first one and now they are getting forced to sacrifice they are biggest prize for this failure.
After all these examples it is quite clear that Vince McMahon does not care about the history of WWE. He has already killed some of the most prestigious championships of WWE, it is nothing less than killing the history for sure. The only prestigious championship of right now that is surviving for over 50 years is the Intercontinental championship. Maybe this Championship will die soon as well.
