The name Brie and Nikki Bella don’t comfort the former top wrestlers as they’re now not only ex-performers but also ex-WWE Superstars. It’s been more than three months since their WWE departure and they’re simply looking forward to capitalizing on their new identities while looking in the future.

Both the former Brie and Nikki Bella were in attendance at the latest bygone ESPYs 2023 edition. But this time around, they’re not representing the WWE, unlike the previous occasions. The newly become Garcia Twins caught up with “Extra’s” Melvin Robert on the red carpet of the award ceremony, where they spoke about their new chapter as they turn 40, this year.

“We just felt in our hearts that we weren’t aligned anymore,” Brie stated their decision to leave the Bella Twins as well as the wrestling world behind. “We turn 40 in November and we’re like, ‘It’s our turn to go back to our roots to be the Garcia twins. We always were, but just no one else knew.”

Nikki Bella echoed the sentiment of her twin sister by stating that over the past decade, The Bella Twins made so many historic moments in or outside the WWE but in association with the company. As they enter the 40s, their new goal is to make history as The Garcia Twins and never go back to the Bella identity, ever again.

“We’re about to walk into our 40s, and it was like, this next decade, it’s about time the Garcia twins make history. We’re just in this new era of our life. We’re having this transformation; we’re doing incredible things that are outside of the ring. And what the ring did for us was incredible too, and now we get to do it on another platform,” Nikki Bella explained.

The interviewer further questioned her on what it feels like to be back on the grand red carpet of the ESPY Award. Nikki Bella quipped that as WWE Hall of Famer, she knows how much pressure an athlete has to deal with while performing in front of a live audience. So, she was glad to be a part of this celebration of athletes from all genres,

“What athletes do day in and day out, not only for their teammates but for people around the world, I love the ESPYS because they finally get celebrated. They get honored. The world gets to see what inspiration they are, their struggles, how they got to where they’re at.”

As The Garcia Twins look forward to unraveling themselves via this new identity, they’re indeed leaving a ton of history in the WWE. Nikki Bella will forever be remembered as the longest-reigning WWE Divas Champion of all time who was also one of the main reasons that WWE started doing reality TV shows.
