Daniel Bryan hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since the month of June. There’s still no confirmation available behind his absence or when we could expect him to be back on SmackDown as a wrestler. (Since it’s been speculated that WWE may have involved him in creative aspect in recent times)
Why Daniel Bryan Is Absent From WWE TV Since June 2020?
It was noted recently via the reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Daniel Bryan has been away from the WWE Performance Center tapings in Orlando as per COVID-19 precautionary measures. His presence coincided with wife Brie Bella being deep into her pregnancy in the past few months.
Brie was cautious on the social media with Daniel Bryan working during the coronavirus pandemic as his immune system was weakened. The newborn could’ve been affected. It’s been just over a month since Brie gave birth to their second child. So it’s likely that both his parents would want to take some more time before one of them get into the road amid this ongoing pandemic. Or else, Daniel Bryan could simply wait until the vaccine comes out.

There’s some recent speculation on Daniel Bryan possibly returning to action as WWE is now running shows at a much bigger venue that is at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, for the time being. It was believed that this larger venue could bring back some wrestlers and that’s what happened with the returns of Sami Zayn and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
It’s yet to be seen whether Daniel Bryan takes a similar route just like these two fellow SmackDown roster members. As mentioned above, reports were out in July, that the leader of the Yes Nation has joined the SmackDown writing team, this year and reportedly provided some significant inputs with his creative influence.
Daniel Bryan hasn’t wrestled in WWE since the June 12 SmackDown episode, where he lost to AJ Styles in the finale of the Intercontinental Title tournament, who later dropped the title to Jeff Hardy. Bryan made a non-wrestling appearance on June 19, but he hasn’t attended the Performance Center since then. He also made an appearance on the July 3 SmackDown episode, but it was done with Zoom. The Observer noted that he has filmed some contents for WWE, and has been part of the creative team.
