The Fiend is currently slated to feature in the main event of the Survivor Series PPV event. He will defend the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan in a fresh matchup.
With his dominant persona, the champion is the undoubted favorite heading into this match who is also likely to retain the belt.
In fact, the current speculation is that he would be having a title reign that could lead up to Wrestlemania 36.
It leads us to speculate who could be the opponent for The Fiend at the grandest event of the year.
Apparently, this is the character that WWE plans to be the next strongest character on the roster just like The Undertaker used to be in his prime. So, he would be slated to face only special opponents in marquee matches.
This is the reason why Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that two of the mega opponents may be heading to a clash with this demonic character.
As per the veteran wrestling journalist, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt might go on to face “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns or “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36. He added that Wrestlemania plans are done way ahead of time.
So we would soon be seeing the signs of this mega feud that would be culminating at the biggest event of the year, (courtesy wwfoldschool.com)
“Brock is stuck with Paul [Heyman] and because of Brock, Paul and Vince [McMahon] it is always planned out in advance. We probably should be seeing hints of whatever [Lesnar’s direction] is pretty soon.
I’m still thinking it might be Bray Wyatt although they’re different brands. Maybe that’s out of the question, but maybe it’s not. Even if it is out of the question today, it might not be out of the question in a month.
If ratings go down then what decisions will they make at that point? They’re building Bray up for somebody. It certainly isn’t Daniel Bryan.
It’s certainly not The Miz. I don’t think it’s Strowman. I guess it might be Roman. I mean it could be Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania. I could absolutely see that.
Those could be the two. I’d say it’s Bray Wyatt against either Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar.”
We should note that Brock Lesnar was just moved to Monday Night Raw following Crown Jewel through an angle with Rey Mysterio.
With brand extension being intact, it’s not likely that WWE would host cross-branded matches. So Roman Reigns seems the current favorite to take on The Fiend at the showcase of immortals. Who knows if he turns out to be the one to dethrone the champion, as well?
