WrestleMania 39 will light things up for professional wrestling fans within a few hours when the top-most names will be seen performing. The WWE Universe would be treated with the biggest event of the year, possibly the last time under the Triple H-McMahon since the company would be handed to a different owner a few days later.
Fans can’t wait to see what goes down at the SoFi Stadium at Wrestlemania 39. One of the marquee matches on the show is Rey Mysterio who in a first-time matchup, is set to battle his son, Dominik Mysterio. Many might think that this is a one-off match sketched out by the WWE but the company is having some other plans for those two.

Father/son stories are rare in the WWE and the company wants this one to stick around and leave a long-lasting impact. For those who don’t know, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio were also the first father and son-duo to win tag team titles in WWE at Wrestlemania 37. Two years removed from that moment, the two have put on quite an angle leading to WrestleMania 39, and they will reportedly take time to end the show.

Rey vs. Dominik would be stretched beyond Wrestlemania 39
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has plans for Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio after what goes down at WrestleMania 39. Via the betting odds, Dominik is listed as a favorite to come out as the winner in the match. But the story should continue despite whatever the match outcome remains, as informed by the source.
“This is not a one and done. So Dominik could either win, or he could lose but then come back leaving Rey laid out to keep this going,” Meltzer stated about Wrestlemania 39.
“Rey is one of the best ever and knows his job in this feud and match is to make his son a star. And that’s the goal of the match, to make Dominik a superstar heel. He doesn’t necessarily have to win the match and part of Mania is putting faces over and blow-offs. In this case, that shouldn’t be the goal. Dominik is the -170 favorite to win.”
Dominik Mysterio is having a blast as part of Judgment Day from last year’s summer to become one of the bonafide villains of the WWE. Time will tell whether he reunites with his father in the future but the storyline would continue even in the post-Wrestemania 39 season. While competing in the match, Rey could officially become the only superstar to have performed at ‘Mania, just a night after entering the WWE Hall of Fame.
