WWE AEW merger has been one of the unthinkable notions for the pro-wrestling universe where the two top companies of this industry may end up working together. They’re bitter rivals and that scenario could have happened only in the dream until the situation presented the opportunity, itself with WWE agreeing to be a sell-out.

As per the ongoing reports, WWE is likely going to be sold by mid-2023, if Vince McMahon and Nick Khan’s plan can be executed in a proper way in the coming months. Mr. McMahon almost bulldozed his way back to the company’s Board of Directors as he’s now in search of a buyer. This decision may not end up well among the fans but the good thing is that a possibility of a WWE AEW merger has also arrived.

According to a report by Barrons, The Wall Street Journal‘s sister publication, a potential WWE AEW deal was mentioned since Tony Khan and his father are on the list of potential buyers for WWE. It was added that the AEW owners could also look for a financial partner to acquire things in WWE.

“All Elite Wrestling—the top rival to WWE, led by Tony Khan and family—is in the pool of potential buyers for WWE, a person close to the potential transaction told Barron’s, adding that the Khans will likely look for a financial partner to acquire the asset. Tony Khan’s father Shahid Khan, a co-owner of AEW, already owns the football team Jacksonville Jaguars and the English soccer club Fulham Football Club, indicating the duo has deep pockets.”
