The landscape of the entire WWE Smackdown Live women’s division changed, last night as Asuka moved into it. For the past few days, the rumours about her position were under speculations.
It was finally addressed after the former WWE NXT women’s champion showed up. This happened on the concluding night of the Superstar Shakeup, as perhaps the biggest trade for the blue brand.
Asuka created history by winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match back in the month of January. By eliminating Nikki Bella, she earned an opportunity to challenge a champion of her choice at the biggest stage of them all.
She chose Charlotte Flair to set up the biggest match of the women’s division, till date.

In a shocking turn of events, Charlotte was able to defeat Asuka for the first time in her WWE career. She locked in the figure-eight submission move to force her to tap out.
It was a sight to watch as the undefeated streak of the Empress of Tomorrow was over.
Following this, we have not traced Asuka on either WWE Raw or Smackdown Live in the past week.
Meanwhile, on the blue brand, Carmella has become the new champion by cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase on The Queen, last week. So, she threw a celebration in honor of the incredible moment, this week.

It is also to be noted that NXT’s Iconic Duo (Peyton Royse and Billie Kay) is now part of the Smackdown brand who played the catalyst helping out Carmella.
Even on last night’s show, they tried to deliver another assault on Charlotte. Becky Lynch ran down to make the save but the numbers game caught up them. It was at this moment that Asuka ran out to make the save.

The new champion’s face was to watch out for once her music hit. It looked like that she was seeing a ghost. Asuka took the least time to take the Iconic Duo out of the ring.
It’d not be wrong if we say this is the biggest acquisition of the Smackdown brand during the Superstar Shakeup. With the strongest force walking into the blue brand, Carmella’s crown looks in certain jeopardy, for now.

Also, Charlotte deserves a rematch for that title. She is likely to invoke her rematch clause, sooner to get the championship back.
