The fans thought that Wrestlemania 33 had marked the last in the career of Undertaker. On that night, he faced his second defeat at the biggest stage of them all at the hands of Roman Reigns. When he left his in-ring gears inside the middle of the ring, the indications were clear that he was done with his wrestling career.

All the media reports stated the same, thereafter although WWE never confirmed it, officially. So, almost every year, we keep on speculating about another match featuring the Deadman at his yard where he made a legacy that will remain forever.

The recent reports regarding him turned to a positive direction, as well.

The main reason behind the potential retirement was due to a hip surgery following Wrestlemania 33. He underwent the knives, successfully and came back in wrestling shape, quite well which is why all the backstage updates sounded quite positive about it.

The WWE Raw 25th anniversary was the beginning of a supposed storyline featuring him which did not turn out to be the case.

This is why we are still wondering about what the future holds for him. Recently, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted on the speculations stating that there’s a fifty-fifty chance of seeing Undertaker in a match at Wrestlemania.

There are chances that WWE might arrange the dream match between Undertaker and John Cena.

But, it all depends on the scenarios heading into the biggest event of the year. Check out the quotes from the source,

“I know that in the company the belief is that its Undertaker vs John Cena but it may be, it may not be.”

Bryan also included that one week prior to the Royal Rumble PPV, the planning was to host a segment between Cena and Taker to set up the potential match. However, on Raw 25, the Phenome acted like an old man who can’t do it in the ring, one more time.

So, there might be some change in planning:

“Here’s all I know and everyone’s not going to like this response, but I think [The Undertaker vs John Cena] is happening. But I don’t know. Until it’s official, I mean you may as well just presume that it ain’t happening. Because plans change all the time.”
