Seth Rollins will be having a new on-screen name over on Raw from now onwards. As reported earlier, the “Freakin’” mid-name was added to suit his personality. Apparently, some more plans were in store for him on January 1st but that was scrapped at the last moment with none other than a Beast Incarnate coming into the picture.
Reports claim that Seth Rollins was scheduled to win the WWE Championship at Day 1. The inaugural pay-per-view event saw Brock Lesnar capture the WWE Title by winning the Fatal 5 Way main event over Rollins, former champion Big E, Bobby Lashley, and Kevin Owens.

Lesnar wasn’t originally planned to participate in this match but he was added to the match after his original opponent, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, tested positive for COVID-19. The match was scrapped forcing the beast to move back to the top of the WWE Raw roster.
Seth Rollins’ title win was scrapped at the last minute
In the latest update, Dave Meltzer reported at Sports Illustrated that the original scripted plan for Day 1 was for Big E to drop the WWE Title to Seth Rollins. The supposed winner had tested positive for COVID-19 the week before Day 1, but he was cleared in time for the pay-per-view. The E vs. Rollins feud was also supposed to continue for weeks to follow over the title which was the reason, WWE announced a multi-person title match for Day 1.
Wrestlemania 38: Possible Opponent For WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch
The news comes as contradictory as a prior graphic by WWE On FOX indicated that Big E was scheduled to retain the WWE Title at Day 1 before Lesnar was added to the match. WWE could have nixed the plan for Seth Rollins to win the title when he tested positive for COVID-19, as a precautionary measure. In other words, the deleted WWE on FOX Twitter account graphic can’t simply be taken for granted when it comes to making the decision about the title match-winner.
There’s no update available on whether Seth Rollins will be involved in the title picture, moving forward. As of now, Lesnar is scheduled to defend his title against new number-one contender Bobby Lashley at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 29 in St. Louis, Missouri.
