CM Punk is one of the most celebrated pro-wrestling athletes in the entire world. If he decided to stay with the industry, he’d probably be one of the biggest draws in any of the promotions. However, being a unique guy, he stepped down from the scene. The former champion seemed happy to lead a life with his real-life wife, AJ Lee.

The longest reigning WWE title-holder in the modern era (434 days) decided to part ways with his former employer after a tremendous backlash happened in the locker room.

At one point, he accused the WWE officials to force him in fighting despite a number of injuries picked up by him. The words turned out to be sour and a lawsuit was filed by one of the doctors which is why he stopped wrestling in the company.

The lawsuit took a new turn after he opened his mouth in Colt Cabana podcast. The host of the show suffered the same consequences, as well. Leaving no chance for him to come back in the WWE. This case is still going on which is why Punk tried his luck at the UFC promotion. The outcome was devastating.

The straight edge leader suffered a loss in a record time of just two minutes and 45 seconds. It was only his first match inside the Octagon. He was never seen around the scene in the MMA, after that.

Questions kept on coming whether his UFC career is over or not. But it’s not as he is making his return in the hometown.

It is now confirmed that CM Punk is getting another chance that he still has something left in his tank to compete in the UFC promotion.

The Chicago-Made wrestler will be seen fighting it out in his hometown. The fight is scheduled to take place on June 9th. It will mark the UFC 225 PPV where he will take on against Mike Jackson.

Later, TMZ reported that Dana White also confirmed that this fight is indeed happening.

Punk’s coach, Duke Roufus also noted that he is fighting hard to come back with a bang. His first opponent at the UFC was a tough draw in the form of Mickey Gall. But, now he is 200 percent ready to return and take on somebody.

These were his quotes from Luke Thomas Show on Sirius XM (quotes courtesy stillrealtous.com)

“I’m not even his coach. We were friends first before we did this. I would not do this with anyone else except for my friendship with him from before he decided to fight. He’s just one hell of a guy. He’s a celebrity but he’s different than a lot of celebrities I know. Great guy. He works his ass off. He’s very well-liked on our team and he’s improved a lot.”
