The most infamous saga of WWE Universe continues as Brock Lesnar will once again challenge Roman Reigns. With the WWE Universal Championship hanging in the balance, the two will collide again at the upcoming Day 1 pay-per-view. Without a doubt, this match will serve as the main event of the inaugural PPV tradition of the WWE as the company looks forward to kick-start 2022 in a big way.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns previously did battle at Crown Jewel and the latter one prevailed with the damn Usos interfering in the champion’s favor. Some fans have wondered about the logic of putting the biggest match lineup on a brand new PPV instead of saving it up for a bigger event like Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania.

As noted, the two WWE Titans have wrestled each other in several big main-event matches since the beginning of the feud, six years ago. The outcome of those singles matches are given below,

– WrestleMania 34 (Brock Lesnar won)
– WWE Greatest Royal Rumble 2018 (Brock Lesnar won)
– WWE SummerSlam 2018 (Roman Reigns won)
– WWE Crown Jewel 2021 (Roman Reigns won)

As you can see, both The Tribal Chief and The Beast Incarnate stand 2-2 when it comes to singles matches in their entire WWE career. That being said, the Day 1 PPV is going to be a decisive match in their feud. However, reports suggest that the program will eventually continue.

Reports already claimed that WWE is likely to have a series of matches between their two biggest draws. Dave Meltzer detailed the potential stretched plan on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio mentioning how WWE might just re-book the match at Wrestlemania 38 in Dallas, Texas,

“It is not going to be the last Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns match, obviously there is still a plan for WrestleMania. So, that’s the basic gist of it.”
