Over the years, WWE certainly had several controversial names in their locker room and Sable appeared to be one of those names. Being one of the most discussed names from the Attitude Era of the WWE who had her ups and down with the company, she isn’t still allowed to get mentioned on WWE programming let alone making a one-off appearance.
The clause remained intact for a long time despite the fact that Sable is none other than Brock Lesnar’s wife, in real life. The rule was slightly broken by Edge during this past episode of Smackdown as the Rated-R Superstar ended up name-dropping the former WWE bombshell Diva during his return.
“I Never Want To Talk About It Or Getting Raped,” WWE Diva On Extra Marital Affair With Batista
As seen on Smackdown, the WWE Hall of Famer appeared on The Grayson Waller Effect talk show. Grayson quickly cut off Edge and told him to get into the major announcement while Edge noted that says this is the 25th anniversary of his WWE career and he was ready for a celebration.
Grayson asks Edge about the return and Edge replied that he returned for the fans. Talking about making memories in the WWE, he commented on his first SummerSlam, which was in 1998, where he teamed up with Sable to take on Marc Mero and Jacqueline. This name-drop of Edge’s tag partner from 1998 Summerslam was unexpected and this one is being considered as an exceptional instance.

Torrie Wilson provided updates on Sable’s ban from WWE TV
During a previous virtual signing, WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson revealed that she was specifically instructed not to mention Sable during her Hall of Fame speech in 2019. Wilson also joked that one would have to go to Timbuktu in Minnesota to find her, as she has completely distanced herself from professional wrestling and public appearances for a long time.
Wilson added that mentioning Sable’s name was prohibited, even if she was a rival to her and they had also shared storylines together on SmackDown in 2003. Besides the duo also appeared on the cover of Playboy. But unlike Stacy Keibler, Torrie couldn’t take the name of her former nemesis.
Sable’s tenure with the WWE first ended in the late 90s after she sued the company over an unsafe environment. She buried the hatchet and re-entered in the early 2000s but the toxic relationship continue as she made the exit in 2004 alongside her husband, Brock Lesnar.
