After some major speculations, the return of WWE Draft was finally confirmed by the current head of the creative team, Triple H. This comes after the post-Wrestlemania 39 episode aired last night and the veteran WWE Superstar was on board for the TV show. About midway through the show, he made his way to the ring to address the WWE Universe and drop a piece of big news.
Following his appearance announcement, this past Monday on Raw, the WWE Universe was more than curious about what the WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque would have to say on Smackdown, live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. After hyping the success of WrestleMania 39, he confirmed the big return with the following statement,
“In just a few short weeks, it is once again time for the WWE Draft.”

This is a busy time for the WWE with so many things going around. Triple H’s father-in-law is back in the company and he’s also running things again on Raw. Also, the UFC and WWE are set to merge which could cause future changes. But Triple H still took time to make his way to the ring on SmackDown for the confirmation of WWE Draft.

Potential date revealed for WWE Draft 2023
Interestingly enough, no exact date for the 2023 edition of WWE Draft was not provided by Triple H. WRKD wrestling provided a follow-up on WWE’s announcement to offer on when the shakeup process will go down. It appears that there’s still a month to go,
“The current planned date for the upcoming WWE Draft is May 8th in Jacksonville, Florida.”
Triple H touted the upcoming event as “a night that changes the future and the destiny of every WWE superstar in the back” just after a report from last afternoon that indicated that we may not see any such thing anytime soon. Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE Draft plans were altered “late last year” to an “undetermined time in 2023.”
“A draft that would have effectively reset the rosters for the new Triple H regime was rumored late last year, however talent were told that it was being moved to an undetermined time in 2023. However, Fightful Select can confirm that unanimously across over a dozen talent on the WWE roster have not been told that a WWE Draft is coming, or when it could even be.”
2022 was the first time since 2016 that we haven’t received a WWE Draft and recent crossovers were supposed to be the main reason. While that tradition still continues on Raw and Smackdown, we’ll have to wait and see how things would be distinguished between the two roster members.
