Another championship match for WWE Fastlane 2023 has now been confirmed following this week’s episode of Smackdown where WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY will go through the toughest title defense of her ongoing reign. Two former champions will be gunning for the title at the event scheduled for next weekend.
Over on this week’s Smackdown, Charlotte Flair defeated Bayley in a singles contest. Before heading into the match, Charlotte announced that she was going to challenge IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WWE Fastlane 2023 after she won this match against her former Four Horsewomen member.

Once the match was over, Damage CTRL’s SKY and Bayley were about to attack Charlotte, but Asuka ran out to the ring to make the save. Asuka stated something in Japanese and in return Bayley said if Asuka wants to be added to the SKY vs. Charlotte matchup at WWE Fastlane 2023, then it’ll go down that way.
With that, a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women’s Title had been confirmed. But SKY wasn’t happy with Bayley accepting the title bout on her behalf and more importantly, that’s not what Asuka did want in the first place.
WWE Raw: NXT Women’s Championship Match Announced For October 2 Episode
SKY will now go through her overall third title defense at WWE Fastlane 2023 against two of the all-time greats in the women’s division. Earlier, she defended against Zelina Veg on the August 25 episode of WWE Smackdown. Afterward, Asuka came forward to demand her rematch for the title but she came up short during the match that went down last week on Smackdown.

IYO SKY won the WWE Women’s Championship which marked her first title win on the main roster. It also came in a Triple Threat at Summerslam 2023 where Bianca Belair defeated Asuka and Charlotte Flair to become the new titleholder. But soon after the match the 2023 2023 Money in the Bank briefcase holder SKY successfully cashed in her contract to win the Women’s Title. Now, she’s heading into another Triple Threat at WWE Fastlane 2023 which seemingly puts her title reign in jeopardy.

WWE Fastlane 2023 premium live event takes place Saturday, October 8 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The confirmed match card for the PLE goes as follows,
