It’s been more than five years since Indian fans experienced a WWE Live Event, live from their soil. That big gap is reportedly coming to an end as a WWE show is reportedly in the pipeline within two months from now and a former WWE Champion is almost confirmed to perform in it.
WrestleVotes was the first to give updates on this WWE Live Event in India. The International Event is being targeted for the third week in January 2023 while no details are available on whether this one will be a televised show or not,
“I’m told there was chatter last night backstage at RAW of an ‘international live event’ taking place on Wednesday January 18th or Thursday Jan 19th. With location still TBD. No word on if this event is for TV or not.”
In a follow-up update on this WWE Live Event in India, SK Wrestling noted that this international event will take place in India in Hyderabad, Telangana. No additional details were stated apart from the fact that it will be a “grand scale” show and it will feature both Indian and International WWE Superstars.

Drew McIntyre coming to India for WWE Live Event?
Drew McIntyre is reportedly a lock for this WWE Live Event since he recently visited India for a Bollywood project. While nothing regarding his visit was confirmed, he has been teasing collaborations with some top names from Bollywood, Varun Dhawan, and John Abraham. It was during his visit that McIntyre teased the possibility of a future WWE event in India.
Interestingly, McIntyre was the one to headline an Indian show, Superstar Spectacle. Taped from the USA on January 22, 2021, the show aired on January 26 to coincide with the Republic Day of India. As part of WWE’s deal with Sony Pictures Networks India, the company presented “a unique showcase of Indian-inspired action.”
It’s unclear at this point whether this planned WWE Live Event will be a follow-up to Superstar Spectacle from 2021. As noted above, Drew McIntyre and The Indus Sher (Rinku and Saurav) defeated The Bollywood Boyz (Samir Singh and Sunil Singh) and Jinder Mahal in the main event match of that night.
Roman Reigns previously worked in WWE India shows
We can only assume that Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns would also be a part of this upcoming show since he always had a massive following in India. Previously, he worked both the WWE Live Events in 2016 and 2017. We now wait for official confirmations from WWE’s part for the reported show.
