AJ Styles is out of the WWE Championship picture after losing the title opportunity to Daniel Bryan at TLC. There’s no update on what could be waiting next for him on Smackdown Live. But he definitely left the fans talking a lot after punching Vince McMahon into the face. We wonder whether this will drag him into a bigger storyline.

Meanwhile, reports claim that he is not doing well on health wise. WWE Holiday Tour is underway from December 26th onwards. After getting a couple of days off for Christmas, WWE Superstars are back to perform in the house shows. They will also tape WWE Raw and Smackdown for the New Year’s edition in the next couple of days.

Going by the reports, one of the biggest stars from Smackdown can miss the shows. AJ Styles is the concerned name who missed a big live event at the All-State Arena in Chicago, Illinois. He was about to face Daniel Bryan in a title match. But he never showed up with no prior disclosed reason. However, we received an update on this.

PWInsider.com revealed that AJ Styles is dealing with flu which is why he missed the Smackdown house show. Furthermore, The Miz came out to host Miz TV and announced to the crowd that AJ Styles is dealing with the flu. Shane McMahon instructed him over the phone he could take AJ’s place.

The hometown hero Mustafa Ali came out to interrupt The Miz and set up a match for the number one contender’s spot over WWE Championship. Daniel Bryan interfered in the match to set up a triple threat cage match for the championship. The current champion went on to retain his title after coming out as the winner in the triple threat bout.

But it seems the fans were not happy to see The Phenomenal One in attendance. The same source suggested that only about 2/3rds of the arena were filled. Even some of the crowd chose to leave the show during the intermission with the main event of the might still remaining. Women superstars stole the show in Chicago, once again.

Asuka defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch. But the intermission did not happen until about 10 PM. So 1/4th of the audience left the venue. It was an unusual scene from a sports-loving city like Chicago. We hope to see AJ Styles returning to the scene tonight’s live event. He is still being advertised from the show to take place in Long Island, New York.
