WWE News: Clarification On CM Punk Attending The NXT Takeover: Chicago Event 1

The NXT Takeover: Chicago event took place on this past Saturday night.

It was an additional NXT event for this year. It was added to the Backlash weekend which took place at the All-state arena, Chicago in the suburbs of Rosemont, Illinois.

Now, the internet was turned into a frenzy over a picture of CM Punk surfacing on the social media sites. It showed the former WWE champion attending the NXT event. The WWE universe was taken aback with this sudden appearance despite his bitter feelings towards the WWE.

The picture was taken as a legit one by the fans since Chicago is the hometown of the former Straight Edge Superstar. The fans went ga-ga over it before the actual shot surfaced on the internet clarifying that the Punk was not present during the NXT event.

Check out the first shot which shows that the crowd favourite superstar is enjoying the event among the crowd. You can also spot the WWE graphics showing CM Punk name to address the matter. However, that was right, there is a clear indication that it was made, courtesy photo-shop.

Later, a fan posted the actual picture of the shot which was taken during an UFC event. He was present to watch the show along with his wife, AJ Lee.

The previous uploader indeed did a mockery of the WWE by adding the WWE NXT graphics into the picture and making a fool of everyone.

The fake photo also points out the fact how WWE fans always find a way to insert CM Punk name with his former employer. Every time, WWE comes back in Chicago, some false rumours surfaced claiming that Punk is coming back to the WWE.

But, it is unlikely that he would make a return to the squared circle, ever again. He is under contract with the UFC promotion despite not performing there for over two years.

That does not mean that he is interested in returning to the pro-wrestling. As per the rumours, WWE sent him releasing papers on his wedding day. He was so frustrated with this that he decided to hang up his boots, forever.
