The bittersweet relationship between the WWE and CM Punk is known to all. Three years have passed since the Straight Edge Society leader left the WWE but the latest happenings suggested no actions were taken to put waters under the bridge. In a surprising incident, CM Punk, one of the greatest WWE champions of all time, decided to present someone with his prestigious WWE spinning belt.
I was in the storage unit of @CMPunk and I found his legit @wwe belt. I said this is kinda cool and he said its yours, Merry XMAS. #Champ pic.twitter.com/JWKK08szB5

The incident took place when Punk and his friend Cliff Compton went for a warehouse cleaning prior to the Christmas evening. Compton is also a former WWE Tag Team champion, who used to wrestle in 2007-08 under the name of Domino.
He found the WWE Championship belt covered with dust. Compton was overwhelmed by the big surprise and took his twitter handle to let us know about it.
@CliffCompton @CMPunk @WWE it looks cheap. Is the take home title like toy belt quality?

@SouthSiderKB @CMPunk @WWE Its the legit belt from WWE. It’s heavy as fuck

He further confirmed the belt was the legit WWE belt that Punk won back at the Money in the Bank match against John Cena in Chicago. He said it was quite heavy.
@SouthSiderKB @CassHummel @CMPunk @WWE I dunno, he had a bunch of belts in a random box. I just happened to grab this one. It was dusty.

Punk won the championship at that night when his WWE contract was over. He decided to re-sign and went on to become the longest reigning WWE champion in the modern era.
This is the belt I was given. It’s old and dusty. It’s going to my 9 year old nephew who’s a big fan. Merry Xmas. pic.twitter.com/2Pg1XBaiRp

However, that did not put an end to the rift between him and the WWE or rather Vince McMahon, specifically. This led to his departure from the WWE in 2014, the night after Royal Rumble. His wife AJ Lee also decided to quit the very next year once her WWE contract got expired. While the fans always want Punk back into the company, the chances are not that good.
