Daniel Bryan won the WWE Championship on last week’s Smackdown. He defeated AJ Styles via clean pinfall after hitting a Running Knee. But he also turned heel during this match by hitting Styles with a low blow. The referee never saw this and did not disqualify the match. Since then, Daniel Bryan has adopted a mean streak.
It actually helped him while competing against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. He would never be able to match up to the physicality of the beast incarnate, otherwise. A vicious low blow followed by continuous attack gave him some opening before Lesnar nailed him with an F-5. This ensured the predicted win by the Universal Champion.
But Daniel Bryan has nothing to get ashamed of. He left the building with a smirk on the face indicating that his heel antics has just started to unfold. We expected more of this on Smackdown. He was about to deliver an explanation about the remorseless attack on AJ Styles even after winning the WWE Championship.
Daniel Bryan walked into the Staples Center in almost zero reaction from the crowd. It is almost an unfamiliar sight for a popular superstar like him. The commentators explained that the crowd is in awe about how to react on the heinous acts of Daniel Bryan from last week. They also informed us about AJ Styles getting his WWE Championship rematch at the TLC PPV.
The new champ held the mic and announced that he did something terrible. But it was not last week after attacking AJ Styles. But it was three years ago when he gave up on his dreams and announced retirement due to a neck concussion. He fought back alone, with the mantra that says, “fight for your dreams and your dreams will fight for you.”
So his dream took over his thoughts on last week’s Smackdown. When he saw that the referee was down during the match it was the dreams that kicked in the balls of AJ Styles. It was a reminder that he never stopped thinking of his dreams and he accomplished the same by winning the WWE Championship. The fans are not part of this dream, at all.
With that being said, Daniel Bryan also confirmed that the YES movement is dead. The fans were never there when he had the painful comeback journey to in-ring competition. So they are nothing but idiots with those YES chants. The solid promo confirmed the heel-turn of the new WWE Champion who seemed promising to expose a new side of his character.
