WWE’s tag team division is definitely in a total mess, right now. Both the Raw and Smackdown division champions do not have any booking for them which is hard for them. Sooner, that lackluster period may get over as former tag team champions are coming back on TV after an injury suffered by one half of them.
Daniel Bryan Wants Tag Team Division To Main-Event Wrestlemania!
WWE Has Big Plans For 24/7 Championship In Future
Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) have been missing from WWE TV for several months now. Drake Maverick used to manage these two monsters exported from NXT. He eventually handed the Raw tag team championships to the Authors of Pain. Much sooner, Akam suffered a knee injury at the beginning of the year and both of them had to go into a hiatus.
The injury could not occur in a worse phase as the Authors of Pain was ready to receive a big push in WWE programming. The young talents had to wait quite a bit to reach the championship picture. So it was hard for them to relinquish the two belts. The good news is that the two are back as a team and might sooner return on TV.

“According to a report by POST Wrestling, Akam has now been cleared to make his return to the ring, so AOP should be making their re-debut soon. It’s interesting to note that the site also revealed that the duo could have returned much sooner, but the Wild Card Rule has kept them off the TV and limited a lot of time for many other stars.”
Authors of Pain did not appear on TV, at all, for a long time. It was back at Royal Rumble 2019 when Rezar made a one-off appearance. without his tag team partner and instead teamed with Scott Dawson from The Revival in an odd tag team match against Chad Gable and Bobby Roode. It was for the WWE Raw tag team championships which the heels obviously lost.
There’s no confirmed date available for Authors of Pain, the former Tag Team Champions’ return. We assume the officials will let him appear once again the creative team finds a direction for them on either SmackDown Live or Monday Night Raw. Daniel Bryan has already started a mission to change the complexion of the tag team division on Smackdown. AOP may just follow his league to do the same on Raw.
