WWE confirmed the first match for the women’s tag team championships at Elimination Chamber. The anticipation around these titles was quite high for sometimes. We have heard about the inauguration of the titles for a long time. But there was no proper time and date to get new title-holders until they aired an episode of A Moment of Bliss.

The host Alexa Bliss was the one to break the news to the audience. She confirmed that we get the first-ever women’s tag team champions at Elimination Chamber. Three teams from WWE Raw and three teams from SmackDown would compete in five weeks inside that Elimination Chamber structure.

This would indeed be a historical moment where the women superstars will step into the steel cage for the second time only. Rumors are already out about the potential teams those would compete in this match. It is almost sure that there will be some sort of surprises to make this match memorable for a long time.

Sources also revealed the names who could be the first women’s tag team champions. Joe Peisich mentioned on the No Holds Barred podcast on Barnburner that Sasha Banks and Bayley are clear-cut favorites at this time. They will be stealing the spotlights at Elimination Chamber creating history.

Plus, a huge moment will be waiting for them at Wrestlemania 35. They are likely to face two legends at the biggest event of the year creating a dream match for the fans. Here is the update from the source,

“You know Bayley and Sasha Banks are most likely winning the tag team titles. I hear at WrestleMania they’ll defend the tag team titles up against Trish Stratus and Lita.”

We should mention that Trish Stratus and Lita returned to WWE programming during Evolution 2018. It was the first-ever all-women event that featured the two Hall of Famers in a tag team match. Initially, the plan was to introduce the women’s tag team titles on the same night. Sasha Banks and Bayley were to face these two veterans.

But somehow the plans did not work out. Trish Stratus and Lita had to go away without doing the actual task they were supposed to do. The Boss n Hug Connection team built up eyeing the inaugural women’s tag team titles, a long time ago. Both these ladies have been former champions who can make the new titles look prestigious. Putting them over with former legends will make their character even stronger.
