Kurt Angle is all set to finish his Hall of Fame career on April 7th at Wrestlemania 35. This show will emanate from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. WWE’s current announcements hint that we will be seeing Baron Corbin face Kurt Angle at the event which causes disappointment to many fans.
As reported earlier, Kurt Angle’s wife was not happy with WWE announcing this matchup. He is a bonafide first ballad Hall of Famer who deserves a much better send-off, especially that WWE has not booked some major names at Wrestlemania 35. So the speculations suggested that one of them will face the former general manager of WWE Raw.
Plans with a huge matchup at Wrestlemania 35
Superstars not happy with WWE’s Wrestlemania rules
It’s to the dismay of the fans that WWE officials decided to detach themselves from the ongoing backlash. They went ahead to keep the Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin lineup regardless of what the fans or veterans might think. In the meantime, a reliable source came up with more interesting news.
PWInsider.com reported that the even Kurt Angle expected a high-profile matchup at Wrestlemania 35. He thought another future Hall of Famer will dance with him at the biggest event of the year. WWE not only listened to his pledge but also forced him to promote the announced matchup for April 7th.
Here’s more from SportsKeeda.com,
“It looks like that WWE legitimate wants to have Corbin face Angle at WrestleMania.PWInsider have been told that Angle wanted a high profile opponent for his final match ever, and the negative reaction from his wife on social media was real. It comes as a major surprise that WWE would disregard the wish of an accomplished legend like Kurt Angle.”
Meanwhile, Baron Corbin should be very happy to learn that he is finally getting his first Wrestlemania solo matchup on the main card. He is former Andre The Giant Battle Royal winner from Wrestlemania 32. He earned the accolade on his debut night on the main roster back in 2016 that took him to nowhere from a career prospective.
If this match remains intact on WWE programming then he will get a chance to do something significant in his career. With Kurt Angle competing in his last match, it is not likely that he will pick up a win in his final match. Rather he will put over the young talent handing over the biggest win of Corbin’s career.
