WWE News: Kurt Angle Speaks On Future After Devastating Loss On Last Week’s Raw 1

Kurt Angle had the first singles contest ever since his WWE return at the Crown Jewel PPV event. The outcome of the match did not go in his favor as Dolph Ziggler handed him a clean pinfall loss. Things went worse when he competed in another match on WWE Raw against Drew McIntyre. It added the most humiliating loss of his entire career into the resume.

WWE Raw captain and members declared for Survivor Series

By virtue of this, Kurt Angle is still not officially in for the Survivor Series PPV event. Furthermore, WWE Raw also failed to win the World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel. The red brand depended a lot on this veteran name to bring the trophy home. But Smackdown commissioner snatched it from the grasps of his rival brand.

Many do believe that Shane McMahon did it in an unfair way. He did not wrestle for the entire tournament. The Miz was the representative for Smackdown brand to get to the finale match. But he ruptured his knees in the culminating match and referees pulled him back into the locker room. So Shane McMahon competed in that impromptu match to win it.

Kurt Angle commented on this surprise world cup win by Smackdown commissioner. He was part of a Facebook Q&A session to open up on a myriad of topics including this one. He has gone to war with Shane McMahon in the past. Hence he did not show any disrespect to him. But winning the tournament by full participation would be a good thing, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)

“Shane has proven himself to be a great sports entertainer. I would have preferred him to earn the World Cup Title by wrestling in the tournament though.”

The general manager of WWE Raw also spoke up about the devastating loss on last week’s show. It was a disturbing experience to see the WWE Hall of Famer tap out to his own move of Ankle Lock. Plus McIntyre also hit him with the Angle Slam. This kept him out of the equation for the Survivor Series traditional tag team match.

The six-time world champion noted what could be next for him. He understands that the competition is an all-time high in the WWE, right now. Not being inside the ring for a long time affected his moves to a big extent. So it might take some time for him to cope up with it. But he is likely to wrestle more in the near future.

“I don’t know. I do want to wrestle more. I just started wrestling again so it’s going to take a few matches before I get the kinks out, especially being older now. I’m hoping I get a little bit more consistent wrestling in the future. Either way, I love contributing. We will see.”

It’s good to hear that this squash loss does not mean the career end for Kurt Angle. Rather it might set up a big comeback for him in the near future. WWE officials are likely to use him more in competitions in the absence of Roman Reigns and Triple H.
