WWE News: List Of Words Vince McMahon Banned From Using On WWE Programming
When it comes to Live Television, Vince McMahon and the senior producer of WWE, Kevin Dunn says the last word about it. The Boss is extremely choosy over what to do on live tv.
Sometimes, it might turn out to be not understandable to the employees but they have to follow the rules just because it is being instructed by Vince, himself.
One recent example of such an incident occurred when Vince McMahon barred WWE members from naming the venue of Wrestlemania as the Camping World Stadium. In case you don’t know, the stadium was previously known as the Citrus Bowl which was later refurbished with the new name.
But, quite surprisingly, we have not heard the word, “Camping World” for once in the whole Wrestlemania season. Reports suggested just because McMahon did not like the word, he instructed all his employees not to use this word. Rather, they were told to use Citrus Bowl, simply.
Another reason for the same is Camping World might be the sponsor behind the venue forcing them to rename it. Just because WWE does not have good working relationship with them, the name was withdrawn from WWE programming.
Also, we often note Wrestlemania as “The Grandaddy of Them All”. But, Vince refrained all his commentators from using this phrase. Rather, they use “The Showcase of Immortals” as we could hear Michael Cole saying during the Wrestlemania season.
Take a look at the following list of words which were handed to the WWE team by the Boss in 2008. No words from this list are still allowed to use on television programming or the other contents:
The Title is on the Line
Title Changing Hands
These rules just don’t apply on the commentators or announcers on live television. Rather, all the WWE superstars, creative writers, social media managers and backstage employees fall under it. If anyone shows the audacity to use one of these words, heavy penalty waits for them.
Some might say that all of these are stupid rules but with Vince McMahon fully in-charge, no alteration in the list is expected in near future either.
