WWE News: Nikki Bella to Return Despite John Cena & Doctor’s Prohibition
Nikki Bella was forced to quit performing as a full-time wrestler back in 2015 due to the career-threatening neck injury.
She alongside her twin sister Brie Bella was running the Divas Division for multiple years, back then. It earned her the incredible 305-day Divas Championship reign which is the longest one in the title history.
She made a comeback at Summerslam 2016 but could not continue to perform for a long time due to the neck concussions catching up to her, once again. Wrestlemania 33 marked her last match alongside John Cena against the team of The Miz and Maryse until the women’s Royal Rumble match.
Since then, we have been receiving updates she will eventually make another return to the squared circle for a full-fledged return.
In recent times, as per the updates from the Total Bellas show, we got to know that her neck condition is much worse than thought. So, her world-famous surgeon alongside John Cena had suggested her to quit from in-ring competition, forever.
As seen in the clip given on the reality show we could hear Dr Juan Uribe suggesting her the following:
“If you were a family member of mine, I’d probably be telling you; this is time to find something else.”
As told by Nikki Bella herself in an interview with Fox News, her boyfriend John Cena also prohibited from wrestling with the suggestions,
“He is like, you have your health. Why continue? You’ve done everything you can do as a WWE superstar.”
But, when it comes to wrestling inside the squared circle, the Bella Queen is quite determined to make her name similar to that of her ‘Fearless’ brand. Hence, she is gearing up for the much anticipated come back. As told on E News, she would return to her playground with her sister Brie,
“It’s tough because when you love something so much, and you’re very passionate about it you just don’t ever want to hear the words retirement or you’re career’s over, I know that with my spinal condition I can never be full time again, I just can’t do that but I do wanna be full time, and I don’t want to retire. I literally can’t imagine not going into the ring, and I want to make a comeback with Brie, and I want to do it in 2018.”
Both Nikki & Brie Bella bring mainstream attention to the WWE, as they are quite big names in the TV industry, right now. So, the creative team will love to have them back before the Wrestlemania season. It is why they were back in the Royal Rumble match, as well. We can definitely hope Nikki to come back in time to work for the biggest event of the year, most probably on Smackdown Live.
