The pro-wrestling industry received a big headliner in the past weekend. Neither WWE nor All Elite Wrestling garnered enough attention as Priscilla Kelly did. She did something of awful taste as accepted by most of the fans or critics. A tampon spot overshadowed everything that happened at a Suburban Fight Pro Wrestling event near Los Angeles on December 30.
In case you have missed it, Priscilla Kelly wrestled Tuna on this show. Once the match was over, she pulled out a bloody Tampon off her shorts and shoved it down to opponent’s throat. Fans took videos and pictures of the incident and shared it on the social media leading the Internet Wrestling Community to go wild.
Veterans like WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross, Impact Hall of Famer Gail Kim seemed despised as they saw it as a heinous act. WWE Producer “Road Dogg” Brian James also criticized the facts saying that this kind of activity is the reason why some hate the pro-wrestling business. Later he apologized for the comments but the spot has surely been a matter of talks.

Priscilla Kelly indeed earned big-time free publicity through this act. So did she enjoy the stunt? She commented on this by appearing on the Shining Wizard Podcast which goes as follows, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
I’m not new to the attention. I did a TV show when I was 14 (My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding), and I received tons of attention and backlash from, and everything in between from that, so I’m kind of preconditioned to this kind of thing. Obviously, this is on a bigger scale than that was, but still kind of the same context.”
We should note that even mainstream media covered the incident around the USA. The New York Post, Fox News, Yahoo News, ESPN and many more have picked up this controversial spot on their news reports. Even WWE received huge attention from this act as most of the outlets mentioned her as a WWE wrestler or a former WWE Superstar.
She participated in the 2018 Mae Young Classic. Unfortunately, she had to lose in the first round of the tournament to Deonna Purrazzo. But there were chances for her to come back into the WWE in near future. But this non-PG act might have ruined those chances since the company does not allow these on their program. Here’s her take on future WWE chances,
“Honestly, no. I don’t think it blew any chance. I mean, if it did, there’s plenty of other opportunities in the world of professional wrestling for me.”
It is yet to see whether this incident will have any long-lasting effect on Priscilla Kelly in due course. Most of the fans and critics crowned this as a negative spot that could harm her. We hope she can focus on her career overcoming this one-off incident.
