WWE News: Result of Sixth WWE Mixed Match Challenge Contest 1

The Mixed Match Challenge is continuing for the last five weeks. It is the first interactive show on Facebook Watch set up by the WWE where mixed tag teams from Raw takes on one such team from Smackdown Live.

Five teams have qualified before last night to go into the second round of the tournament.

Sasha Banks-Finn Balor, The Miz-Asuka, Alexa Bliss-Braun Strowman, Jimmy Uso-Naomi and Rusev-Lana were these five pairs who already entertained the crowd for the past several weeks. Last night, it was the turn of Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode to take on the team of Apollo and Nia Jax.

Initially, Nia’s partner for the series was supposed to be Enzo Amore who is now gone from the company, all of a sudden. So, she was given a new partner. To start off the match, Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode made their entrance and posed in front of the Phoenix audience. Nia Jax and Apollo appeared next with the Titus Worldwide present by their side.

Roode and Apollo started the encounter with the US Champion continuously trying to master the Flair struts. Charlotte tried to teach her, as Apollo was put down with the chops. Later, Charlotte received the tag and went against Nia Jax to the delight of the crowd.

Every time, Charlotte went on to capitalise on Nia, Dana Brooke tried to distract her from underneath the ring making Nia furious. She told the statistician of the Titus Worldwide to stay out of her business. This distraction allowed Charlotte to deliver a huge boot to put down the Samoan wrecking machine.

After that, Bobby Roode received the tag against Apollo, and the match was finished off in style in favour of team Charlotte and Bobby Roode, (courtesy WWE.com).

“When Roode and Apollo reentered to once again battle it out, The Glorious One gained an advantage, and Nia was forced to join the fray to break up a pin. Moment later, as Roode lifted his knee to stop Apollo’s assault in its tracks, Charlotte managed to drop Nia off the ropes. The Queen then followed up with a Moonsault on Nia as Roode hit the Glorious DDT on Apollo for the huge three-count.”

The Smackdown women’s champion and the US Champion celebrated inside the ring to end the last match of the first round of the Mixed Match Challenge. Nia seemed irate for the outcome of the match, and shoved Apollo off to Titus. Dana went to protest against Nia to digest a Samoan Drop-kick to end the show.
