WWE News: Samoa Joe Not Expected to Compete at Wrestlemania 34
It was supposed to be a minor injury, initially. But, later it turned out to be a fatal one which is likely to keep him away from in-ring action for a long time. It includes the biggest event of the year on April 8th.
A huge push was said to be reserved for him when he was sidelined. The night he was injured, he cut a promo indicating that a potential rivalry against John Cena was coming up. it would have been a huge feud perhaps culminating at Wrestlemania. But, he was unable to compete even at the Royal Rumble PPV. Plus, his name was withdrawn from the Mixed Match Challenge contest, as well.
A ray of hope of his quick return was created with the appearance of the NXT Takeover kick-off show in Philadelphia.
According to his words from that night, the Destroyer was feeling better from the early injury days which was a hint that he might be back in the upcoming weeks. But, he was never seen on the scene since then in any of the WWE shows.
Additionally, he clarified his concussion is taking weeks to recover which is why there’s no definite time span of his comeback. The recent reports of wrestlingINC.com might have confirmed that there’s no way that he will make it to Wrestlemania. According to the source, the former NXT Champion has been removed from all the live events until after Wrestlemania.
He was previously being advertised for the Madison Square Garden show on March 16th. But, later it was also removed indicating that he will not be involved in it which was another indication that there’s no hope for him at ‘Mania 34.
