Shane McMahon and The Miz formed the most unlikely tag team in the WWE. It was way back during the Crown Jewel pay-per-view that McMahon became Miz’s co-bestie. They captured the world cup trophy that was the first time we receive the idea of these two becoming a tag team. Eventually, they went on to capture the belts belonging to Smackdown.

Revealed: Shane McMahon’s Wrestlemania opponent
But that title run came to an end at Elimination Chamber for obvious reasons. There’s no way that these two can co-exist together as a team for a long time. The idea is to create a feud between these two to set up a match at Wrestlemania 35. The question is that whom does WWE want to turn heel to create the bad blood.
Conflicts have been brewing up on this regard between Vince McMahon and his creative team. The Boss is against the idea of turning Shane McMahon into a villain where his team is down with it. Even Shane-o-Mac himself has agreed to transition into a new role. But it might not happen just because his father does not want it.
Vince does not want a universal babyface like Shane McMahon to go heel at this point. He also does not think that The Miz will receive bigger cheers than him is the character transition happens. But the former Smackdown commissioner himself has requested for the much-anticipated heel turn.
WWE creative team has come up with an alternative idea which might not come to fruition,
“A plan was suggested to Vince where Shane & Miz would recapture the SmackDown Tag Team Titles and move forward as a babyface tag team into WrestleMania 35, but Vince doesn’t believe a Tag Team Title match is a marketable WrestleMania match. Vince wants both Shane & Miz in key WrestleMania spots and still, want to do Shane McMahon vs. The Miz.”
Opposing this idea, the Chairman wanted to take this predicted route where The Miz would go back to being a heel. But the creative team is not willing to make him a villain, again. After a long time, the A-lister has become a babyface which was a slow process. They do not want to ruin this new character, too.
Overall, it is a complicated situation between Shane McMahon and The Miz, for now. They will challenge The Usos for the tag team titles at Fastlane. The original plan suggests that McMahon will go heel on that night. It will be interesting to see if WWE does want to pull the trigger on his character.
