We expected an explanation from Shane McMahon on his actions from Fastlane on last night’s Smackdown. He did have a lot to get out of his chests that also confirmed a huge showdown at Wrestlemania. The younger McMahon is now set to face the Hollywood A-lister at the biggest event of them all. This all goes down via the heel-turn that took place on this past Sunday night in the hometown of The Miz.

The Smackdown commissioner seemed extremely proud of what he did at the Fastlane event. He was totally frustrated after The Miz disappointed him for two PPVs in a row and lost the tag team championship opportunities. So Shane McMahon declared only he is the ‘best in the world’ presenting the trophy earned in Saudi Arabia. Thereby, he demanded The Miz to compete in a match at Wrestlemania 35.

Moments later, WWE.com made this official,

“Back on SmackDown LIVE, Shane revealed the full extent of his bitterness toward his former partner and said he enjoyed beating The Awesome One up in front of his father. He demanded The Miz show up at WrestleMania because after all, The A-Lister does work for him. Shane vowed to continue his onslaught in a match against Miz at WrestleMania, promising a beating that would be awesome. Don’t miss the highly personal clash on The Grandest Stage of Them All, Sunday, April 7, streaming live on WWE Network at 7 ET/4 PT!”

Shane McMahon going heel was a long-term idea on Smackdown Live. WWE has been thinking to change his character since the universal babyface gimmick has made things stale for him. It was back in the fall of 2018 when the rumors went viral that the villainous turn is happening. It also received a green signal from the creative heads, too.

But the McMahons returned to WWE TV to take things over that pushed this plan back. As per the sources, the officials never wiped it down from the card. So it finally happened on this past Sunday night. The storyline with The Miz helped to culminate it at Fastlane to set up a potential Wrestlemania 35 matchup. It became quite a headliner from the bygone pay-per-view.

Shane McMahon not only attacked The Miz but also his father earning tremendous boos from the Cleveland crowd. He brought back the mean streak by locking in a chokehold to pass out his tag partner. Later, he also denied making any comments on his actions. Well, last night he did spell out the reasons for this sudden turn-on against his partner. Now, these two will have to settle out the differences at the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania.
