Brock Lesnar has held the Universal Championship for over 600 days in combined. He has had two reigns with the red-strapped belt that the WWE Universe dub as “The reign of terror”, thanks to his contract with the company. It allows him to miss several episodes of Raw in a spree making the reign dull.

Despite this, Vince McMahon never backed down from giving him the Universal Championship. Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE bringing tons of mainstream attention alongside him in 2012. Ever since then, he is enjoying a perk-filled contract that allows him to work only selected dates in a calendar year.

The reason behind giving him such a special contract is his fame as a UFC superstar. Brock Lesnar was one of the most dominant UFC Champions of all time who came back to dominant the pro-wrestling scene. It may be possible that his WWE contract is coming to an end allowing him to go back to the Octagon.
Recent comments from Daniel Cormier hinted that he is taking the initiative to bring the Beast Incarnate back to the UFC promotion. This, in turn, fuels up the speculation of seeing this dream match between the two heavyweight superstars. Apparently, this could happen following Wrestlemania 35.
ESPN journalist, Ariel Helwani, recently shared a video clip featuring UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier from a short interview. DC hinted that he might end up appearing at Wrestlemania 35 to interfere the Universal Championship match. This will ensure that Brock Lesnar comes back to the UFC in the near future.
Hear out what DC has to say about his future opponent,
“You know man, I don’t have a fight exactly scheduled, but I have got my eyes on Brock Lesnar. I may go to WWE’s WrestleMania and I may cost him his (Universal) title over there so he can hurry up and get to the UFC, so I can beat him here.”

Such a cross-brand affair is not possible at Wrestlemania unless it is pre-planned for via a storyline. So there are fewer chances to see Cormier interfering in the match. However, Vince McMahon can be down for anything that produces money. Who knows if he would allow Brock Lesnar to visit UFC following Wrestlemania 35? Therefore, we can’t wipe out an appearance by the UFC Heavyweight Champion.
