Paige suffered a neck concussion almost one year ago from now. Sasha Banks hit her hard from the back to create a scary scene during a house show. Paige fell down and could not get up due to a paralytic condition. Well, that marked the end of the in-ring career for the talented female wrestler. Her spine is dealing with a scoliosis situation forcing her to retire.
Earlier this year, we heard her officially announcing retirement the night after Wrestlemania 34. It happened at an age of just 24 which is why we did believe that there are still chances for a comeback. Additionally, the returning story of Daniel Bryan is an example to all of us. Some recent reports suggested that as well saying Paige indeed has the chance to come back to wrestling.
Mike Johnson discussed the situation in a recent edition of PW Insider Elite Audio. He stated that Paige can actually wrestle if she wants to in the future. It was WWE who decided to bar her completely from physical capacity and thereby forcing her to retire. When it comes to such concussions, WWE strictly maintains a policy and does not go beyond that.
The source clarified that there are indeed chances for the ‘anti-Diva’ to take bumps again. She could leave the WWE and go to some other companies to pursue a wrestling career. But Paige chose not to shift the brand she works for. The WWE officials were the primary reason why she had to hang up her boots.
But the officials do love her work ethics and worldwide popularity. So they gave an alternative role to him by making her the Smackdown general manager. Her current contract is intact with the WWE until 2019. She is definitely staying here despite what these reports from Mike suggests, (courtesy ringsidenews.com)
“My original headline was [on PW Insider] ‘WWE Pulls Paige As In-Ring Performer’ because that was the truth. She could go if she left WWE go and wrestle for Impact or anywhere else. I don’t know if that would be the best decision for her health long-term but she could choose to do that.”
“WWE management and WWE’s medical team, they were the ones who made the decision to remove her. As to if she has looked into ways of getting better or getting cleared, it’s possible. No one has specifically told me that, I don’t know of any meetings that she’s had with WWE management where she’s pushed the idea of getting back into the ring.”
However, Paige herself reacted to such positive news about her career on the social media. Her latest tweet clarified that one nasty bump can bring paralysis to her body. So there is no chance for her to ever come back to wrestling competition. She also asked fans not to pay attention to those speculations floating on the internet. So there are no real chances of seeing the return happening.
